Exciting album news & Single Review: While She Sleeps – Civil Isolation

Love brutal, shouty rock? Yep, me too. That’s why I’m currently loving While She Sleeps’ new single Civil Isolation.

The Sheffield rockers have followed up last year’s brilliant Brainwashed album with sounds like more of the same. Civil Isolation starts out in brutal fashion, shouty lyrics and a heavy drumbeat before launching into heavily distorted gutar chords, before the shouty lyrics return, lamenting all the things we’re ‘sick of.’

The lyrics are , but suddenly the anger ends and there’s a period of reflection both in terms of a break from the brutality in favour, before it builds up gradually and launches head first into a reprieve of While She Sleep at their brilliant best.

The video – which is pretty cool, with a group of people sitting on a hillside watching fires gradually pop up across a city – is below.

And if that’s whetted your appetite for what’s coming from the band, then now is your chance to do something about it. The band is doing something very cool with their upcoming album. There’s a video on their website explaining more, but they are looking for fans to directly fund the record – as well as artwork, videos, touring and everything else that keeps the band going.

The video itself gives you a great insight into the band’s personality and the problems they’ve faced in the music industry. But now, putting those problems to one side, they are bypassing the record labels and coming straight to us – the fans. They’ve converted a warehouse into a studio with their own hands and plastered and soundproofed it themselves, to record their third full length record – which is coming in early 2017.

It’s an awesome story and one that we are fully backing, and hopefully you can too to support this amazing band.
