London’s finest day-long celebration of rock is back as Camden Rocks Festival returns on Saturday 2 June.
Highlights include post-punk legends Public Image Limited (PiL), fronted by former Sex Pistol John Lydon, playing the festival for the first time, while it’ll be headlined by Newcastle’s Mercury Award nominees Maxïmo Park, who will close the day out at Koko.
More than 200 bands and artists will take to the stages of more than 20 venues across Camden Town, including the slights of Corby metal heavyweights Raging Speedhorn, Manchester punks Sonic Boom Six and Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic.
There’s also a host of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming rock bands. These include several bands we’ve covered here on the site, including London rockers Sisteray and Black Orchid Empire, and the mighty Gold Key and Duke of Wolves. Other highlights include the powerful Skarlett Riot, always excellent Press To Meco and Birmingham five-piece Shvpes.
As event organiser Chris McCormack puts it: “As always, the festival is as much about the emerging talent out there as it is the more established bands so get down early to catch some of these great new artists before they go supernova.
“From buzzing new bands starting out, rubbing shoulders with established rock giants, Camden Rocks has always prided itself on providing a platform for new talent. These join an ever-growing rank of bands being added to a line-up that covers every style across the many indie, rock, metal and punk genres.”
Following a sold out sixth year in 2017, this year’s event is set to be a cracking day of punk, rock and metal new and old.
Camden Rocks Festival 2018 takes place on Saturday 2 June, and tickets are available now from just £39.50 here.
