Introducing: The thrilling, epic horror sound of Swedish technical metal band @mistermiseryband, who take us on a full-filled ride of fast, energetic metal laced with grandiose orchestral elements. We took a listen to a few tracks from their recently released second album A Brighter Side of Death and had a chat with the band to find out more about their fun but intense sound.

#NewBandoftheWeek: Feisty punk-infused alternative rock from fun, DIY Leicester trio @switchdownuk, who offer up plenty of energy, big riffs and catchy vocals. We took a listen to latest single WHY-PHY and had a chat with drummer Harry to find out more about the band, their music and their Jump Street movie obsession.

Introducing: Indie-punk meets post-punk anthems with a grungey garage band aura from Norwegian rockers @the_moderntimes. We explored the band's diverse and engaging sound and dug into their most recent releases.

Introducing: Crushingly heavy deathcore meets death metal from emerging Minneapolis band @cardijum. Prepare yourself for intense rhythms, powerful riffs and savage vocals from this fun and extreme new band. We took a listen to the band's first single Sleep and had a chat with them to find out more as they build up towards their debut album later this year.

Introducing: Dark, gothic metal from intriguing Brazilian horror metal collective @alchemiabandofficial. The band fuses heavy black and death metal influences with dramatic symphonic elements, classical orchestration and gothic synths. We explored this by checking out the band's debut album Inception, which was released last week on @wormholedeath_records, and had a chat with frontman Victor Piiroja.

The last 12 months have had an unprecedented impact on everyone in all walks of life. Those effects are being felt especially hard by the music industry but, out of the darkness we're seeing light at the end of the tunnel and new opportunities emerge. One such example is new music directory @musicmissileglobal. So, over the weekend, we invited co-founder Daniel Hodson to write a guest blog on their mission to assist new bands and musicians.
