Introducing: The Best New Band in the World - and that's not our claim, it's the result of Ukrainian trio @sinoptikband winning the Global Battle of the Bands contest in Berlin a few years ago. We discovered why such a moniker has been placed on the band, who fuse elements of progressive, stoner and psychedelic rock, by checking out their latest single Apple Tree and the very cool From Nothing To Forever. And we had a chat with the trio, who are the first Ukrainian band we've featured on the site, to find out more.

Happy #NewMusicFriday! The sun is out and we have a great mix of new music from new bands in our latest #FreshTunes Spotify playlist update. This week's update features everything from metalcore and death metal to emo, dreamy grunge pop, and even a cheeky saxophone solo! Eclecticism at its finest. And it comes courtesy of bands from Australia, Brazil, Finland, Germany, Italy, Russia, Sweden, the UK, and the US.

Introducing: With an engaging fusion of classic heavy metal with grunge and rock elements, Nottingham's @cottonmouth_band are onto a winner. Expect big catchy vocals and a whole load of shredding guitars! We took a listen to the band's latest single Hollow and had a chat with frontman Jack to find out more.

Introducing: Take two extreme music genres, blend them together, and create the sound of killing? We delve into the slightly terrifying world of metal meets hardcore techno, also known as gabber, in the occult, industrial sound of @mvsic2mvrder2. We took a listen to this distinct sound by checking out their brand new EP and first few singles and had a chat with the person behind the music to find out more. Expect intense synths, pounding riffs, and massive blastbeats.

Introducing: Deliciously dark and doomy stoner rock from Glasgow band @therhubarbband. We took a listen to their latest two 'radio edit' singles Drag Me To Hell and Part-Time Suicide and chatted to bassist and vocalist Hannah White to find out more about them. Expect fuzzy riffs and engaging dual vocals in their intoxicating doomy sound.

#NewBandoftheWeek: Hardcore meets Deathcore from exciting new Swindon band @tyrantsbanduk, who describe their sound as "Stupidly heavy slams." It's safe to say this is gonna get heavy! We checked out the quartet's huge debut single FEAR and had a chat with frontman Josh to find out more about them, starting a band during lockdown, and their plans for 2021.
